Tekken 5 is the sixth Tekken game. The game is credited for taking the series back to its roots. The game features 32 playable characters, the fourth largest amount of playable characters in a Tekken game, Tekken 5: Dark Resurrection has 35 characters, the third largest amount, Tekken Tag Tournament has 39 characters, the second largest amount and Tekken 6 has 40 characters, the largest amount (42 in Tekken 6: Bloodline Rebellion, which will also be in place of Tekken 6 for Xbox 360 and Playstation 3) Tekken 5 was released in Arcades in North America in December 2004. It was released on the PlayStation 2 on February 24, 2005 (UnitedStates), March 31, 2005 (Japan), and June 24, 2005 (European Union). Tekken 5 was met with mainly positive critical response. Among these positive responses are the reviews from GameSpot and IGN, which gave Tekken 5 a 9.2/10 and 9.3/10 respectively. The graphics in Tekken 5 are sometimes referred to as the best on the Playstation 2 platform. The game's critical praise was matched with commercial success. As of March 2007, Tekken 5 has sold around 4.3 million copies (note that the game was first released in February 2005).

Tekken 5: Dark Resurrection is an upgraded version of Tekken 5. It added two new characters, Emily "Lili" Rochefort and Sergei Dragunov, and it also added a returning older character, Armor KingEddy Gordo also received his own character box, rather than just sharing a character box with Christie Monteiro. In addition to this, the game featured new moves, as well as modifications to some older moves, in order to balance out the characters more, new customization items, new stages, and new pre-fight and win animations, as well as some camera angle modifications to some older ones. The game also recolored the main outfits of most of the characters, and the game's final boss, Jinpachi Mishima, received a new design, giving him a flame-like appearance, with a horn protruding from his head.

Tekken 6 is the eighth game in the Tekken series and was released in Japanese arcades on Monday, November 26, 2007 and worldwide for arcade machines as of January 2008. While having been released, it has been updated and patched by Namco-Bandai a few times. It is the first Tekken game to feature the Octave Engine, breakable floors, like in Dead or Alive, "Item"Move features for each character, the "Bound" system, and the "Rage" system (see below). It has been revealed by Namco-Bandai during a special press conference that Tekken 6 will notbe released as a console version, but that Tekken 6: Bloodline Rebellion will be released to the PlayStation 3 and the Xbox 360 in its place. »»DOWNLOAD THAT»»

Tekken 6: Bloodline Rebellion is an upcoming updated version of Tekken 6. It was officially announced on August 28th, 2008. It is set to be released in arcades during Winter 2008. The official trailer was shown at the AM Show on September 18th, 2008 in Tokyo, Japan. It is similar to the Tekken 5: Dark Resurrection upgrade for Tekken 5. The tagline, as shown in the most recent trailers, is "What do you fight for". As of Wednesday, October 8, 2008, Tekken 6: Bloodline Rebellion has been confirmed as a title for both the PlayStation 3 and the Xbox 360. READ THE TEKKEN SERIES INFORMATION:↓

The Tekken series is one of the earliest 3D fighting game franchises, with the first game released less than two years after VirtuaFighter. There are six Tekken sequelgames: Tekken 2Tekken 3Tekken Tag TournamentTekken 4Tekken 5 and Tekken 6. Updates of Tekken 5 and Tekken 6, titled Tekken 5: Dark Resurrection and Tekken 6: Bloodline Rebellion, respectively, have also been released.

The Tekken series also includes Tekken Advance, (a GBA version of Tekken 3) which was released for the Game Boy Advance in 2001. However, Namco did not release any other Game Boy Tekken titles subsequently, due to the franchise's exclusive deal on the PlayStation platform. A PSP version of Tekken 5: Dark Resurrection retitled Tekken: Dark Resurrection, was released in Japan and the U.S. in summer 2006. The European version was released in September 152006. Tekken Cart was also released on the hand held Wonderswan.

As with many fighting games, players choose a character from a lineup, and engage in hand-to-hand combat with an opponent. It is primarily a competitive two player series, but a human player can fight an AI-controlled character for practice or amusement.

In the original Tekken game, the characters would fight on arenas. The name of the location was displayed in the bottom right corner of the screen. The locations included Angkor WatSzechwanMonument Valley,ChicagoKyotoFijiLake WindermereVeneziaAcropolisKing George Island, and Chiba Marine Stadium. Subsequent Tekken games do not have the names of real locations displayed in-game during fights.

Tekken differs from other hand-to-hand fighting games in some ways. Traditional fighting games are usually played with buttons which correspond to the strength of the attack, such as strong punch or weak kick.Tekken, however, dedicates a button to each limb of the fighter, making learning special attacks more of an intuitive process. The player could watch the animation on screen and figure out the appropriate command (if the character kicks low with their right leg, the move is likely to be executed by pressing down and right kick, or a similar variation). Traditional fighting games, such as Street Fighter, involve inputting commands as rapidly and accurately as possible, whereas Tekken slows the action down, emphasizing rhythm, strategy, and deception over speed.

The Tekken games are popular within the martial arts community thanks primarily to the fact that most of the characters' fighting techniques can be found in real life martial arts. However, there are questions as to the accuracy of the style labels ascribed to certain characters. For example, in previous releases of the game, the character Paul Phoenix is listed accurately as fighting using integrated martial arts based on judo, despite judo not generally allowing punching and kicking, especially in competition. Similarly, the character Marshall Law is listed as being a practitioner of "martial arts", which is not a specific discipline. Similarities exist between Marshall Law and Bruce Lee, including their fighting style, Jeet Kune Do as well as appearance. The misunderstanding concerning Marshall Law's "martial arts" is commonly attributed to the fact that in the manual for the American PlayStation release of Tekken 2, the translator for the manual missed a small pun where Marshall Law practiced 'Marshall arts', a reference to his own name. Other Tekken characters also draw heavily from real life action heroes, such as Lei Wulong and Craig Marduk, video game analogues of Jackie Chan, and large wrestlers/mixed martial artists, such as Bill GoldbergNathan Jones, and Bob Sapp. Namco themselves have stated that the styles in Tekken are not supposed to accurately represent real styles, but merely give the impression of them. Paul Phoenix, Nina WilliamsYoshimitsu and Heihachi Mishima have been in all Tekken games.

Apart from Yoshimitsu and Heihachi Mishima, there are many crossovers between Tekken and the Soul series, such as King's mask available for custom characters in Soulcalibur III, and Ivy's hairstyle for Anna inTekken 5. Yoshimitsu and Heihachi, being originally Tekken characters, obtained many new moves when brought to the Soul series. In later Tekken games, some of these attacks were added to their moves lists.

Gameplay

The Tekken series uses separate buttons for right and left limbs, resulting in four buttons. Other trademarks include throw escapes, and starting from Tekken 2, autoblock. Each iteration was improved upon both graphically and technically. Tekken 3 introduced the ability to move into the foreground or away from the background, commonly referred to as "sidestepping." Also, Tekken 3 reduced recovery time after being knocked down then previous games and each game afterwards include rolls to recover instantly after hitting the ground; allowing the player to get back into the fight instead of pounding buttons. Tekken 4 gave characters even greater mobility by adding true 3D movement while simultaneously including geometrically complex arenas with unleveled ground, obstacles, and walls. This differed from previous Tekken games, where all of the arenas were level and contained no boundaries, meaning the player could walk forward or backward without limit. Tekken 5 saw the return of both walled and infinite arenas, with the fluid mobility ofTekken 4 being toned down to appease many players who felt it made the game more focused on evasion. Tekken Tag Tournament, released between Tekken 3 and Tekken 4, is not a part of the Tekken storyline. The game allowed each player to control one of the two selected fighters, who could be tagged in and out of the fight by the additional fifth button, which can be used for tag team attacks and juggles, amongst other tactics. Otherwise, Tag Tournament used much of the Tekken 3 gameplay engine and reintroduced characters who weren't available since Tekken 2.

Rounds

By default, there are two rounds of combat. However, the players have a choice from one to five rounds, as well as options for the time limit of each round. If the winning character retains all his or her health without the time limit expiring, the announcer will call, "Perfect!" If the winning character is near knock out, the announcer will call, "Great!" It is possible that both characters can be knocked out simultaneously, and the announcer will call "Double K.O." If the time limit for the round expires, the character with more health will be declared the winner. If both players have equal health remaining, the round will be a draw. In other cases, the announcer will call "K.O." when one character is triumphant or "Double K.O." when both opponents have been knocked out simultaneously. Double K.O. results in a loss for the player in Arcade mode.

Characters

Tekken is notable and praised for depicting its characters with visual flair and style. Players can choose from a diverse cast that hails from a variety of ethnic backgrounds and fighting styles. Many characters have supernatural origin, such as Devil, while others like Roger Jr. and Kuma provide comic relief. In the story mode of the game, each character generally has their own personal reasons for entering the tournament and competing for the prize. When a player selects a character, completion of the game would assume that particular character won the tournament and their ending is shown, hence there are multiple endings depending on which character is chosen by the player. The plot of subsequent games in the series, however, assumes only one of the endings to be correct. The overarching plot of the series revolves around the Mishima family (HeihachiKazuyaJin and most recently Jinpachi), who together are the only characters to host and win the tournaments canonically in the series so far. Paul Phoenix, Nina Williams, Yoshimitsu and Heihachi Mishima are the only characters to have been playable in every Tekken game.

The rage system allows your player to inflict damage almost 2 times the original damage but may only activate when your player has only 15% health points remaining. The bound system applies only for some attacks. It delivers your opponent downward to an inescapable state and you can still do another juggle.

INSTANT TEKKEN GAME UPDATE GAME RELEASE:

INSTANT TEKKEN GAME UPDATE:

Mere moments after Jin's departure from Hon-Maru, helicopters start to approach the Dojo. The noise wakes Heihachi and Kazuya up, and moments later, a squadron of Jack-4's burst through the walls. The Jack-4's target Heihachi and Kazuya, and Kazuya immediately deduces that they have been sent by G Corporation, who no longer need Kazuya and now want him dead.Heihachi and Kazuya team up to fight the Jack-4s, and bring down scores of the androids together. But Heihachi starts to lose his strength. Kazuya takes advantage of this, and throws his father into the Jack-4's, who pile up on him while Kazuya morphs into his Devil form and escapes in triumph. Seconds later, Hon-Maru blows up. The only witness to the blast is a mysterious agent clad in black, known as Raven, who declares Heihachi dead into his communicator. Raven is attacked by a Jack-4, which he swiftly slices in half. The next day, Heihachi's death is declared all over the world (unknown to everyone, Heihachi is still alive), and everyone foresees the end of the Mishima Zaibatsu. However, someone else has already taken over the company and business continues as usual. Two months later, the King of Iron Fist Tournament 5 is announced.Meanwhile, Jin Kazama's Devil Gene is going berserk, and he decides to search for the one responsible for the change by entering the tournament. Kazuya also enters to find out exactly who in G Corporation sent the Jack-4's to kill him, and take his revenge.tekken-in-the-wikipage - 41557825As Jin and Kazuya progress through the tournament, the secret sponsor is finally revealed:Jinpachi Mishima, the father of Heihachi and who has been missing for the past Thirty years. As it turns out, Jinpachi is the founder of the Mishima Zaibatsu and was a respected martial arts master until his greedy son, Heihachi, stole the company from him and had him imprisoned underneath Hon-Maru after Jinpachi attempted a Coup d'état (Heihachi was steering the company into the military industry, something Jinpachi believed was not right). Jinpachi died soon afterwards of starvation, until the Devil took over his mind and granted him immortality (as well as a Devil Gene), and Jinpachi was finally freed from his prison when the Jack-4's destroyed Hon-Maru. As of now, the Devil Gene is slowly consuming Jinpachi's mind, and Jinpachi has announced the tournament in hopes that someone will kill him and put an end to his reign of terror before it even starts. In the end, Jin makes it to the final, and faces his Devil-powered great-grandfather in combat. Ultimately, Jin manages to defeat Jinpachi, who dissolves into dust and disappears, his wish fulfilled. Jin is now the new owner of the Mishima Zaibatsu.

C o n t e n t  a n d  n e w  f e a t u r e s

Katsuhiro Harada, director ofTekken 6 , has stated the game will retain all of the elements fromTekken 5 andTekken 5: Dark Resurrection  that were well-received by fans. He also said that the stages will be bigger and will have more interactivity, such as walls or floors that can be broken to reveal new fighting areas. The character customization feature will also be more involved with gameplay. In addition, the game adds a new "rage" system, which gives characters more power when their vitality is low. When activated, a red energy field surrounds the character and their health bar starts to flicker red. Both the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions of the game will include an online versus multiplayer mode over PSN and Xbox Live respectively. The home versions will also have an extra mode that continues the play style ofTekken 3 andTekken 4's 'Tekken Force' modes andTekken 5's 'Devil Within' mode. This mode can be played co-operatively with two players, and also allows the players to pick up weapons such as poles and gatling guns. Other features in the home versions include a toggle option for motion blur. Another gameplay feature added is the bouncing system. If certain conditions are met, such as slamming the opponent strongly to the ground or falling in a multi-tiered stage, the opponent will bounce back from the ground, allowing bigger combos and new techniques.

C h a r a c t e r s

Tekken developer and Executive Producer ofTekken 6 Katsuhiro Harada said, "The number of playable characters will be bigger thanTekken 5and be the largest roster in the series. I've been on theTekkenseries for over 10 years, and one thing we have particularly focused on afterTekken 3 is making sure each character is unique and doesn't overlap with other characters. They all are unique not only in their appearance but their personality and techniques as well."Harada has stated thatTekken 6 will boast the greatest number of characters ever seen in aTekkengame with a total of 42 characters, including virtually all of the characters from "Tekken 5: Dark Resurrection and two new Bloodline Rebellion characters (44 Characters).According to an Update article in the PlayStation Gallery section on page 40 of the May 2009 issue ofPlayStation: The Official Magazineplayers are able to create and customize their own characters and take any in-game or created character online.tekken-in-the-wikipage - 41557825Eight new characters have been confirmed. The first character, Zafina, is a female who will have moves Harada likened to that of a "spider" and who enters the tournament to prevent the clash of the "two evil stars".The second character, Leo, is a German fighter who is intended to be a character which can be played by beginners and experienced players alike. The death of Leo's mother, presumably at the hands ofKazuya Mishimaprompts Leo to begin investigating the Mishima Zaibatsu. The third character, Miguel Caballero Rojo, is a Spaniard Matador with a passion for fighting, but no real discipline. Miguel wants to exact revenge upon the death of his sister at her wedding. The fourth character, Bob, is an American who was known as a martial arts genius. Due to being unable to defeat larger opponents however, he disappeared from the fighting world, determined to increase his weight and power while still maintaining speed. Bob enters The King of Iron Fist Tournament 6 to test his new skills and new size. The fifth character, NANCY-MI647J, is the bonus boss of the game. NANCY's story is said he was a giant robotic creation of Mishima Zaibatsu to similiar as Jack Robot Series. The sixth character, Azazel, is the final boss of the game. Azazel's story is said to be related with Zafina and Julia Chang's story inTekken 6and the confrontation between Jin Kazama and his father Kazuya Mishima. In the console version from Bloodline Rebellion, the seventh Alisa Boskonovitch, a cyborg with jet wings and spinning limbs who may be the cybernetically-enhanced daughter ofDoctor Boskonovitch; and the eighth character Lars Alexandersson, an unknown descendant of his father Heihachi Mishima. The tournament host this time is Jin Kazama and the game's storyline follows his ending fromTekken 5(ascension to the leadership of the Mishima Zaibatsu through victory in the previous tournament). Jin now has tyrannical ambitions, using his resources within the organization to become a global superpower. He severs the Mishima Zaibatsu's national ties and openly declares war on several nations, plunging the world into a chaotic spiral. Kazuya is aware of this and finds Jin's interference in his own plans for global domination to be a nuisance. Now in charge of G Corporation (which was put under his command following a violent fury against the company's heads), Kazuya is seen as the only force who could oppose Jin and places a bounty on Jin's head for anyone who can capture him. Jin's response is to announce The King of Iron Fist Tournament 6 in order to battle Kazuya and crush G Corporation.

SOME CASTS AND ARTICLES; OR SETS OF THE "TEKKEN THE MOVIE"

Reader Mike via the a Luke Goss fan forum sent over this link to someone’s Myspace page that has more first looks at actors from the upcoming live-action “Tekken” movie posing as their characters. Present and accounted for are Marian Zapico as Anna Williams, Cung Le as Marshall Law, Ian Anthony Dale as Kazuya, Gary Daniels as Bryan Fury, Luke Goss as Steve Fox, some extras, and plenty of random images from the “Tekken” set.

"A high-octane action movie about a young man who discovers he holds a great power and must battle a team of elite fighters who will stop at nothing in order to get it from him.

Dwight H. Little directs.

More images from the Myspace page here. It’s not the official site and I have no idea where he got them, but they seem to all be from the “Tekken” set. The Luke Goss pic is said to be from “Tekken” as well. (via the Luke Goss Forum)
