Tekken (é??æ?³?, lit. Iron Fist) is a series of fighting games developed and published by Namco. Originally an arcade game, versions exist for the PlayStation, PlayStation 2, PlayStation Portable, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, WonderSwan, and Game Boy Advance. The story in each game in the series (with the exception of the non-canon game Tekken Tag Tournament) documents the events of the fictional martial arts tournament, The King of Iron Fist Tournament, with the game's chronological number corresponding with the current iteration of the tournament. The tournament is always hosted by a financial corporation called the "Mishima Zaibatsu", with the tournament prize generally being control of the company offered to the victor (who then is free to host the next King of Iron Fist tournament).

Gameplay The Tekken series uses separate buttons for right and left limbs, resulting in four buttons. Other trademarks include throw escapes, and starting from Tekken 2, autoblock. Each iteration was improved upon both graphically and technically. Tekken 3 introduced the ability to move into the foreground or away from the background, commonly referred to as "sidestepping." Also, Tekken 3 reduced recovery time after being knocked down then previous games and each game afterwards include rolls to recover instantly after hitting the ground; allowing the player to get back into the fight instead of pounding buttons. Tekken 4 gave characters even greater mobility by adding true 3D movement while simultaneously including geometrically complex arenas with unleveled ground, obstacles, and walls. This differed from previous Tekken games, where all of the arenas were level and contained no boundaries, meaning the player could walk forward or backward without limit. Tekken 5 saw the return of both walled and infinite arenas, with the fluid mobility of Tekken 4 being toned down to appease many players who felt it made the game more focused on evasion. Tekken Tag Tournament, released between Tekken 3 and Tekken 4, is not a part of the Tekken storyline. The game allowed each player to control one of the two selected fighters, who could be tagged in and out of the fight by the additional fifth button, which can be used for tag team attacks and juggles, amongst other tactics. Otherwise, Tag Tournament used much of the Tekken 3 gameplay engine and reintroduced characters who weren't available since Tekken 2.OTHER SOURCE(S): WIKIPEDIA

INSTANT TEKKEN GAME UPDATE:

Mere moments after Jin's departure from Hon-Maru, helicopters start to approach the Dojo. The noise wakes Heihachi and Kazuya up, and moments later, a squadron of Jack-4's burst through the walls. The Jack-4's target Heihachi and Kazuya, and Kazuya immediately deduces that they have been sent by G Corporation, who no longer need Kazuya and now want him dead.Heihachi and Kazuya team up to fight the Jack-4s, and bring down scores of the androids together. But Heihachi starts to lose his strength. Kazuya takes advantage of this, and throws his father into the Jack-4's, who pile up on him while Kazuya morphs into his Devil form and escapes in triumph. Seconds later, Hon-Maru blows up. The only witness to the blast is a mysterious agent clad in black, known as Raven, who declares Heihachi dead into his communicator. Raven is attacked by a Jack-4, which he swiftly slices in half. The next day, Heihachi's death is declared all over the world (unknown to everyone, Heihachi is still alive), and everyone foresees the end of the Mishima Zaibatsu. However, someone else has already taken over the company and business continues as usual. Two months later, the King of Iron Fist Tournament 5 is announced.Meanwhile, Jin Kazama's Devil Gene is going berserk, and he decides to search for the one responsible for the change by entering the tournament. Kazuya also enters to find out exactly who in G Corporation sent the Jack-4's to kill him, and take his revenge.tekken-in-the-wikipage - 41557825As Jin and Kazuya progress through the tournament, the secret sponsor is finally revealed:Jinpachi Mishima, the father of Heihachi and who has been missing for the past Thirty years. As it turns out, Jinpachi is the founder of the Mishima Zaibatsu and was a respected martial arts master until his greedy son, Heihachi, stole the company from him and had him imprisoned underneath Hon-Maru after Jinpachi attempted a Coup d'état (Heihachi was steering the company into the military industry, something Jinpachi believed was not right). Jinpachi died soon afterwards of starvation, until the Devil took over his mind and granted him immortality (as well as a Devil Gene), and Jinpachi was finally freed from his prison when the Jack-4's destroyed Hon-Maru. As of now, the Devil Gene is slowly consuming Jinpachi's mind, and Jinpachi has announced the tournament in hopes that someone will kill him and put an end to his reign of terror before it even starts. In the end, Jin makes it to the final, and faces his Devil-powered great-grandfather in combat. Ultimately, Jin manages to defeat Jinpachi, who dissolves into dust and disappears, his wish fulfilled. Jin is now the new owner of the Mishima Zaibatsu.
Tekken developer and Executive Producer of Tekken 6 Katsuhiro Harada said, "The number of playable characters will be bigger than Tekken 5 and be the largest roster in the series. I've been on the Tekken series for over 10 years, and one thing we have particularly focused on after Tekken 3 is making sure each character is unique and doesn't overlap with other characters. They all are unique not only in their appearance but their personality and techniques as well." Harada has stated that Tekken 6 will boast the greatest number of characters ever seen in a Tekken game with a total of 42 characters, including virtually all of the characters from "Tekken 5: Dark Resurrection and two new Bloodline Rebellion characters (44 Characters). According to an Update article in the PlayStation Gallery section on page 40 of the May 2009 issue of PlayStation: The Official Magazine players are able to create and customize their own characters and take any in-game or created character online.

TEKKEN FUN STUFF
>>It's been a cool first week for Tekken 6 Bloodline Rebellion here in Manila. For the most part, the game is all over the place, in Timezone and Worlds of Fun arcades located in malls and shopping centers. If you?re gonna play, best invest in a data card. Cards cost from P150 to P170 pesos, and let you do cool stuff like give your character a cool name, records your win/loss records and, best of all, lets you customize. With money you earn by playing (not necessarily winning), you can pimp out your fighter with cool new outfits, accessories, hairstyles, usable weapons/items and basically make them unrecognizable from the stock characters. Be prepared though? items and customs cost a TON, so you?re gonna have to rely mainly on roulettes which only happen if you challenge or play with human opponents. The two new characters are fairly popular, with Alisa Bosconovitch the robo-girl slightly more popular as Tekken Force captain Lars Alexandersson seems to be more for the more serious, hardcore player. Once he is mastered however, he?s obnoxiously powerful. Alisa however has quite a few crazy attacks that can drain your life bar in huge chunks.Every fighter has had stuff added to his or her arsenal of moves, and tweaks made to old combos and strategies in Tekken 6.0, so don?t be surprised if your bread-and-butter juggle doesn?t work anymore. Just re-learn and re-orient.Graphically, the game looks great- character models seem to be slightly bigger, and the overall animations seem smoother with a new ?motion blur? effect added. After a while though you cease to notice it. The new stages are awesome, the new music even more so. What can I say? BR made me love freakin? YODELLING.The new customizations and outfits are, for the most part, SICK AS HECK. As in, they?re awesome. Though some characters still seem to have gotten less than others, it?s still a big leap from T6.0. Hair customs are expensive but look like you will indeed be able to do crazy stuff? just be prepared to spend. Unfortunately it?s still mostly a guessing game to what exactly some items are (there?s no try-before-you-buy or visual guide to customs yet) so be careful when shopping with your hard-earned coin. Darn, I can?t wait for Enterbrain to release a BR Mook.I?ve been able to play for a few days, and well, it?s fun, fun, fun! I seem to notice that the default A.I. for CPU opponents is either a lot easier- or I?ve gotten a lot better- since I have often reached the end boss Azazel (who?s now sporting new attacks and a more sinister look), and even won a couple of times? something I wasn?t able to do before. No special endings of course- we?ll have to wait for the console versions.Anyway, I?ll be playing more of BR when I can. Fall 2009 is still off in the horizon, but for now all is good and cool. Carry on the fight, players!<<

At E3 in 2005, a teaser video featured Jin Kazama demonstrating some martial arts moves. At E3 in 2006 a second trailer begins showing Lili, armed with an umbrella or parasol, walking through a forlorn desert village. In the next scene, Jin suddenly careens through the wall of a church, and Lili follows closely behind, goading him into battle. The two fight and manage to land a few blows on one-another before being interrupted by HwoarangDevil Jin. Devil Jin attacks the pair, but Hwoarang races forward and lands several kicks on Devil Jin, forcing Devil Jin to retreat back into the air. Incensed, he fires a blast of energy from the third eye on his forehead, causing the church steeple to fall towards Hwoarang and Lili. In February 2007, Namco released a third trailer. This new trailer featured actual gameplay footage of Tekken 6 and introduced new characters, Zafina and Leo. The trailer also showcased many of the new stages and locales the game will take place in, as well as an expanded character-customization feature. Finally, the trailer ends with Bryan Fury, as he uses a shotgun to finish a juggle combo.Crashing through a stained glass window on his motorcycle. Taking advantage of Jin's distraction, Lili kicks him high into the air, allowing Hwoarang to leap from his bike and crash it into the airborne Jin. Content and new features
Director Katsuhiro Harada (who also directed Tekken 5) said that Tekken 6 will retain all of the elements from Tekken 5 and Tekken 5: Dark Resurrection that were well-received by fans. He also said that the stages will be bigger and will have more interactivity and the character customization feature will be more involved with gameplay.

  • In Tekken 6, every frame animation for every character has been changed.
  • In Tekken 6, some stages are multi-tiered with new stage features and has daylight/nighttime transitions depending on stage.
  • Tekken 6 will have an online versus multiplayer mode.
  • The customization system from Tekken 5 returns with improved options and more items in Tekken 6. You can switch tops and bottoms between available character costumes, as well as substitute alternate pieces. Common options for all characters include various items (star-shaped sunglasses, twin swords) and options for 'no gloves' or 'no shoes'. There are also character-specific items and pieces, as well as special items that unlock Item Moves once equipped.
  • Tekken 6 adds a new "rage" system, which gives characters more power in a same way that charge techniques do, and gets automatically activated when the character's vitality gets low. When it is activated, a red energy field surrounds the character and their health bar starts to flicker in red.
  • Tekken 6 also introduces "item moves", with which a character uses an item to attack the opponent (for example, Bryan Fury uses a shotgun, Anna Williams kicks her shoe, Lili uses a parasol or umbrella, Bruce summons chickens, and Asuka uses a paper fan).
  • Tekken 6 introduces a new "bounce" system, after moves that knock the opponent down in juggles and they can not tech roll. A new ?bounce? comes into play, extending juggle possibilities.
  • Tekken 6 has an increased health bar compared to the previous games, due to new features stated above which deplete a lot of health.

Characters
Harada has stated that Tekken 6 will boast the greatest number of characters ever seen in a Tekken game with a total of 40 characters. According to Namco, virtually all of the Tekken 5: Dark Resurrection characters will be returning with new additional characters. As of November 2007, five new characters have been confirmed. The first character, Zafina, is a female who will have moves Harada likened to that of a "spider" and who enters the tournament to prevent the clash of the "two evil stars". The second character, Leo, is a German who is intended to be a character which can be played by beginners and experienced players alike. The death of Leo's mother prompts Leo to begin investigating the Mishima Zaibatsu. The third character, Miguel, is a Spaniard with a passion for fighting, but no real discipline. Miguel wants to exact revenge upon the death of his sister at her wedding. The fourth character, Bob, is an American who is known as a martial arts genius. Due to being unable to defeat larger opponents however, he disappeared from the fighting world, determined to increase his weight and power while still maintaining speed. Bob enters The King of Iron Fist Tournament 6 to test his new skills. Azazel is the final boss of the game.
